Honoree Information


Emily Altman

Emily Altman, Managing Director, Head of International Government Relations, JPMorgan Chase & Co., promotes international public policy to foster cooperative business alliances.  As a principal liaison for JPMorgan Chase with the U.S. and foreign governments on international policy issues relating to financial services firms, she furthers opportunities for person-to-person diplomacy with companies and countries throughout the world.  She is Chairman of the International Committee of the Securities and Financial Markets Association, the principal trade association for the global securities industry.  She also serves on the boards of directors of the Business Council for International Understanding, Supporters of Civil Society in Russia, and the American Turkish Society, building strong cross-cultural relationships and promoting economic stability.



Barbara Crossette

Barbara Crossette, Former Chief Correspondent for The New York Times in Southeast Asia and South Asia and United Nations Bureau Chief, has fostered an informed global citizenry for nearly four decades through cutting-edge reporting on policies, leaders, conflicts, and peoples around the world.  She was a Fulbright teaching fellow in journalism at Punjab University in Chandigarh, India in 1980-81.  In her books on Asia and in writing on international affairs for a variety of publications, she brings first-hand insight to the page, increasing the exchange of knowledge and understanding across borders.



Matthew A. Dalio

Matthew A. Dalio is Founder and Chairman of the China Care Foundation which he has started at age 16. China Care Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to helping Chinese orphans by easing costs for families adopting Chinese children, nourishing children back to health through Children’s Homes, providing surgery to correct physical maladies, and making foster care placements for orphaned children.

Over the last eight years it has provided 403 surgeries, financed 220 adoptions of special needs orphans and hosted 204 young American volunteers in China.  After living with a Chinese family inBeijingfor a year when he was 11 and working in a Chinese orphanage at age 16, Matt transformed his desire to make a difference into direct action, inspiring others to do the same.



Kevin Parker

Kevin Parker is Global Head of Deutsche Asset Management and a member of Deutsche Bank’s Group Executive Committee.  He reports to Dr. Josef Ackermann, Chairman of the GEC and Spokesman of the Managing Board.  Prior to his current role, Kevin served as the Global Head of Equities and the Global Head of Equity Derivatives.  He joined Deutsche Bank in 1997 from Morgan Stanley & Co. where he had been named in 1991 the youngest Managing Director in the bank’s history.  He held a variety of positions at Morgan Stanley including Global Head of Equity Derivatives Trading and Chief Information Officer.  He is a leading voice in the asset management industry advocating investment in market-based solutions for global climate change.
